Dissecting Contemporary Human Anatomy

A new twist on an old art

Which animal did this EVMS researcher send into space in 1994?

That's bananas! Pick again.

You're not going to squeak by with that answer!

You're right! We're jelly.

In 1994, research scientist Dorothy Spangenberg, PhD, worked with NASA to send 20,000 microscopic jellyfish into orbit around Earth. The experiment sought to determine if the fast-growing jellyfish "polyps" could develop normally in the microgravity of space. The results may have implications for humans if and when children are born in space in the future.

Nope. Go fish!
