No. The dissertation mentor is selected at the end of the first year of studies. Laboratory rotations will assist the student in choosing an adviser.

If accepted into the program, students will receive a competitive stipend of $30,800 per year for 2021-2022, and all tuition and fees will be waived. PhD students have access to health insurance through EVMS.

Completion of a PhD program requires a significant amount of time and effort. The average student completes the program in 5 to 6 years; the amount of effort invested by the individual student and previous experience are major determinants.
