Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center
Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center is a 346-bed acute care facility providing a variety of leading edge diagnostic and therapeutic services. High-quality imaging, da Vinci robotic surgery, advanced cardiac care, physical rehabilitation, surgical weight loss, behavioral care and maternity care are some of the services the facility provides. The hospital also houses a Primary Stroke Center, an orthopedic center and a sleep center.
Chesapeake Regional Medical Center

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters
Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only freestanding children's hospital in Virginia. With 206 beds, it is the regional pediatric referral center for coastal Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The hospital, a pediatric Level I trauma center, is home to the area's largest and most advanced neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, as well as the state's only acute inpatient rehabilitation unit. Faculty are involved in research locally, nationally and internationally.
Eastern State Hospital
Eastern State Hospital was the first public facility in the U.S. constructed solely for the care and treatment of the mentally ill. Today, the mental health facility houses 300 patients, and its staff treats people from diverse populations including individuals from local correctional facilities and patients in need of long-term care. Teams of physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, dieticians and activities therapists provide services such as individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessment, treatment planning, team building, milieu intervention, crisis management and behavior modification.
Hampton Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC)
The Hampton VAMC has 142 acute beds in medicine, surgery, psychiatry and neurology, 234 extended care beds in intermediate medicine, palliative (hospice) care, spinal cord injury and nursing home care and a 294-bed rehabilitative residential care domiciliary for a total of 670 operating beds. Established in 1870, Hampton is the fourth oldest VA hospital in the country.
Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital
Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital, established in 1890 by the City of Norfolk, provides comprehensive sub-acute hospital care and skilled nursing care following an acute illness or surgical event. The hospital focuses on transitioning patients through rehabilitative and restorative care toward their eventual return home.
Naval Medical Center Portsmouth
Naval Medical Center Portsmouth is the oldest continuously running hospital in the Navy. This fully accredited, tertiary care hospital is a 360-bed facility with an average daily inpatient load of 238 patients. Through its extensive Graduate Medical Education programs, the Naval Medical Center conducts internships and residency training in medicine, dentistry and psychology. Naval Medical Center Portsmouth is one of three major teaching hospitals in the Navy with residency programs in 13 specialty areas.
Sentara CarePlex Hospital
Sentara CarePlex Hospital is an acute care hospital and Certified Primary Stroke Center. The 224-bed hospital offers an eICU to monitor patients with modern equipment and software. Sentara CarePlex Hospital offers advanced surgical programs, emergency cardiac intervention and maternity care services. Its orthopedic hospital was the area's first medical center dedicated to orthopedic care.
Sentara Independence
Sentara Independence, formerly Sentara Bayside Hospital, provides outpatient services to the community as an extension of Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, whose services include advanced imaging and physical therapy. Sentara Independence includes an ambulance-accessible emergency room, state-of-the-art medical equipment and highly-skilled physicians and staff.
Sentara Leigh Hospital
Sentara Leigh Hospital is a 250-bed acute care facility specializing in orthopedic, cardiac, advanced imaging, obstetrical, gynecological and breast care services. Sentara Leigh Hospital offers a contemporary care environment for general medical/surgical and ambulatory services. The medical center includes the 48-bed Orthopedic Hospital at Sentara Leigh, one of Sentara's multiple specialized orthopedic care facilities.
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, the region's first Magnet Hospital, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility, home to the area's only Level I trauma center and burn trauma unit, the region's premier heart program and the primary teaching hospital for undergraduate and graduate education at EVMS. U.S. News and World Report has ranked Sentara Norfolk General Hospital among the nation's Best Hospitals for the hospital's cardiology and heart surgery program and diabetes and endocrinology program. U.S. News has also consistently named it one of Virginia's top 5 hospitals in its Best Regional Hospitals listings. The National Research Corporation has deemed Sentara Norfolk General Hospital the Hampton Roads Consumer Choice Award winner every year since the award's inception in 2000.
Sentara Obici Hospital
Sentara Obici Hospital is a 168-bed, full-service hospital that provides residents of Western Tidewater with patient-centered care. The hospital integrates advanced technologies such as Sentara eCare®, the Sentara electronic medical record system, which gives doctors secure access to health information. Electronic medical records enable greater collaboration between physicians, elevating the level of care for patients at Sentara Obici Hospital and across the Sentara System.

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 276-bed acute care facility offering specialized, tertiary services and the region's only Level III trauma center. It houses the Sentara Heart Center and Sleep Center and provides specialty care in orthopedics, neurosurgery and thoracic and colorectal surgery. Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is one of the region’s accredited stroke centers.
