EVMS welcomes eligible senior visiting students in our senior electives as space permits. To be eligible, students must meet a set of criteria that includes being currently enrolled and in good standing at an LCME-accredited medical school in the US.

Quiet/Prayer Space
Available 24/7, our dedicated quiet/prayer space, in Lewis Hall Room 1032, provides a safe place on campus for students to utilize whenever necessary for prayer, meditation, or relaxation. Equipped with prayer rugs, electronic candles, meditation cushions, and more.

Student Mistreatment
EVMS is committed to a positive and supportive learning environment for its students. Student mistreatment is destructive to the learning environment and will not be tolerated within the EVMS community and its affiliated learning sites. EVMS defines mistreatment as behavior that shows disrespect for learners and interferes with their respective learning process. Such behavior may be verbal, emotional, or physical. The Waldholtz Student Emergency Grant Fund was created by a generous gift from Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Waldholtz to assist currently enrolled students at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) who encounter an unforeseen financial emergency or event that may prevent them from continuing their education at EVMS. The Waldholtz Student Emergency Grant Fund provides EVMS students temporary, immediate financial support (excluding tuition and campus room and board) for emergencies or medical needs that involve circumstances beyond the student’s control and for which other resources have been exhausted. Unlike a loan, students are not expected to repay awards from the Waldholtz Fund. Students can apply for the grant using the Waldholtz Emergency Grant (login required).
