Where you'll train
Hofheimer Hall
Hofheimer Hall is located on the EVMS campus in Norfolk, VA next to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. It houses EVMS Ghent Family Medicine, in addition to several other EVMS specialty practices. The fellow will have regularly occurring Sports Medicine clinics and didactics at Hofheimer Hall. We are happy to have recently renovated our clinic space here!
Maryview Medical Arts Building
The Maryview Medical Arts Building is in Portsmouth, VA next to Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, one of EVMS’s main teaching hospitals. This is a short drive from the EVMS campus. This building houses various specialty clinics including EVMS Portsmouth Family Medicine. The fellow will have regularly occurring Sports Medicine clinics and didactics at this Portsmouth location.
Old Dominion University
Old Dominion University hosts 18 athletic teams between men and women’s sports. Football competes in the NCAA Division I Sunbelt conference. Fellows will cover football and basketball in the fall and winter, respectively. There will be additional opportunities to cover various other athletic events as well. Fellows with work with the Sports Medicine team in the athletic training room at ODU.
Norfolk State University
Norfolk State is home to 13 athletic teams between men and women’s sports. Fellows will assist in covering their Division I football team in the fall. NSU football competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Fellows will work in the Norfolk State training room and have additional opportunities to cover other athletic events as needed.
