Grand Rounds
Formal lecture series with a special emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of various ocular conditions. Visiting lecturers and faculty are invited to be speakers at this monthly conference hosted by the department by invited community faculty or guest lecturers on a range of topics from interdisciplinary medicine to diversity, inclusion, and wellness.
Clinical Grand Rounds
Formal lecture series and hands on workshop with an emphasis on treatment and diagnosis in the clinical setting. Current topics include ocular-plastics, retina, and cornea.
Journal Club
Occurring quarterly, subspecialty journal clubs discuss recent articles from a designated subspecialty (Pediatric, Glaucoma, Cornea, etc) section.
Fluorescein Angiography (FA) Conference
Presented quarterly with a community faculty mentor, a case based format that discusses diagnoses and a management while reviewing retinal images with a focus on FAs
Clinical Pathology Conference
Monthly conference presented by residents of interesting cases encountered in the clinical settings. Faculty mediated discussion includes case presentation, diagnostic data, differential diagnosis, and treatment.
Patient Safety and Quality Improvement (PSQI)
Resident presented case conferences they have followed over time that focus on improvement patient care or safety. Cases should generate discussion that could develop into quality improvement projects where the problem is identifiable, quantifiable, addressable, and able to be monitored for change post intervention. Discussion is faculty mediated.
Surgical Video Case Conference
Senior Residents present videos of challenging cases they encountered in the operating room.
