Hobbies and Interests: Growing up in the Midwest, I learned to love each season and found hobbies I enjoy doing during each of them. When the weather is nice, I enjoy getting outside as much as possible and going hiking, walking with my dog and family, swimming, golfing, sand volleyball, fishing, and various yard games. When fall and winter roll around I still try to get outside and enjoy hunting, pond hockey, ice fishing, and snowboarding.
Why I chose EVMS: I rotated at EVMS for an audition rotation at the beginning of my fourth year, and I immediately fell in love with the program. First and foremost, the residents and attendings were an absolute pleasure to work with. Everyone was very welcoming and loved to teach. The residents were autonomous early in their training, which is important to me. During didactics, the residents and attendings made me feel like I was already a part of the team. Another big draw to EVMS is the structure of the program itself. EVMS has a strong focus on pediatric medicine and EMS exposure, and both of these are areas that I was looking for in a program.
