Dr. Aaron Mills, DO is from Smithfield, Va., here in Tidewater.
Dr. Mills completed his undergraduate education in Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University before attending medical school in Missouri at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He now practices as a Primary Care Internist as well as a Hospitalist at Sentara Norfolk General. Dr. Mills is board certified in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He serves as one of the clerkship directors for the Internal Medicine Clerkship for third-year medical students.
Outside of clinical care, Dr. Mills’ career interests are focused on medical education of student physicians, specifically in the clinical stages of training for Internal Medicine. He additionally serves as an MS1 and MS2 clinical skills educator helping new medical students master the clinical skills required of a physician. He is most proud of his Golden Flea Award given to him by graduating residents for resident education and patient care.
Dr. Mills loves to garden and breed pepper plant varieties to create new species of hot peppers and spends his spare time kayaking and bird watching along the rivers of Tidewater with his wife, Ashley.
