Our faculty are responsible for the Foundational Science module in the CareForward Curriculum. This module introduces first-year students to the major cellular processes that form the basis for advances in modern molecular medicine and provides an introduction to microbiology and immunology. Advanced Microbiology and Immunological concepts are subsequently integrated into all modules of the CareForward Curriculum.
We also offer research opportunities for students in the Biomedical Sciences Master's and PhD programs. Faculty members serve as mentors to students interested in pursuing research in cancer biology, immunology and infectious disease.
The EVMS Microbiology and Molecular Cell Biology Postdoctoral Fellowship program offers advanced training and research opportunities for fellows who have received their MD or PhD. Postdoctoral fellows undertake specific research projects under the guidance of faculty members and participate in journal clubs and seminars.
