Dr. Robert Archer honored

Robert P. Archer, PhD, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, is being honored by the Association of Psychologists in Academic Health Centers. Dr. Archer will receive the Joseph D. Matarazzo Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in Academic Health Centers.

Dr. Archer is nationally recognized for his work as a clinical psychologist specializing in the fields of psychological and personality assessment and forensic research and practice. He is also known for his outstanding educational, mentoring and supervisory activities. He has been awarded several million dollars in research grants, and has presented his work at numerous conferences and workshops.

Dr. Archer has published 130 articles, authored many book chapters and developed software programs for scoring and interpreting psychological assessment data. He has also been on several editorial boards of respected journals in his field.

"Dr. Archer has directed our graduate program in clinical psychology at EVMS, establishing it as one of the premier programs in the country," says Stephen I. Deutsch, MD, Professor and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. "We are very proud of his accomplishments."
