EVMS Endocrinology & Metabolic Disorders Physicians Earn Accredited Ultrasound Practice Recognition

The Strelitz Diabetes Center has earned recognition as an Accredited Ultrasound Practice in the area of “Dedicated Thyroid/Parathyroid.” The accreditation is an acknowledgement that the Diabetes Center has met standards set by the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine in the performance and interpretation of diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
The thyroid experts at the Diabetes Center include David Lieb, MD, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine; Donald Richardson, MD, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine; Elias Siraj, MD, the David L. Bernd Distinguished Chair for Cardiovascular and Diabetes Research, Chief of Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders and Director of the Strelitz Diabetes Center; and three who earned the additional qualification Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound: Cheryl Almirante, MD, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Physician Director for the ultrasound practice; Jagdeesh Ullal, MD, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine; and Elizabeth Jenkins, MD, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine.
