Course description: Practice urogynecology in office and hospital settings, and gain hands-on, supervised experience in the operating room. This course provides the opportunity to manage outpatient urodynamic testing and other evaluations pertinent to patients with urinary incontinence.
Objectives:
- Basic knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of female incontinence and related issues
- Basic knowledge in operative techniques including cystoscopy
- Basic knowledge of urodynamic testing
- Ability to perform pelvic exams in an office setting
Distribution of student’s effort:
- Patient contact: 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient
- Faculty contact: 30 to 40 hours per week
- Surgery: 12 hours per week
