Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers consist of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that delivers nutrients to the skin, helping the skin retain moisture and softness and adding volume.  Dermal fillers are used to replace volume loss in your face or hands due to aging, sun exposure, illness or weight loss. Fillers are injected in the skin and are good for restoring youthful cheekbone, softening eye bags, adding volume to thin lips, smoothing wrinkles and skin folds, softening smile lines, rejuvenating bony hands, improving the appearance of sunken temples.  Treating wrinkles with these dermal fillers is fast and safe. Results will vary from person to person. This treatment is not permanent. For most persons, results last between 4 and 12 months before retreatment is required to maintain the results.

There are several brands of dermal fillers.  We currently offer JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC, JUVÉDERM® XC, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC, JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC, and JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC which contain lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during treatment.

JUVÉDERM® is biosynthetically produced, which means that no animal products are used. This lowers your risk of an allergic reaction and no skin testing is required. This type of filler is known to produce a natural result and side effects are rare. JUVÉDERM® has a long safety record.

Dermal filler injections can be used to improve the skin’s contour and reduce depressions in the skin due to scars, injury or lines. You can see potentially dramatic improvements for:

  • Acne scars
  • Aging hands
  • Cheek depressions
  • Deep smile lines that run from the side of the nose to corners of the mouth
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows
  • Marionette lines at the corners of the mouth
  • Redefining lip border
  • Scares including burns, acne, and those caused by wounds
  • Smoker’s lines; vertical lines on the mouth
  • Some facial scars
