The Center for Community-Engaged Research and Equity (CEREQ) promotes and supports community-engaged research and scholarship development. CEREQ participants can connect with like-minded researchers, find collaborative partners with complementary skills and experience, and use community-engaged networks to support translational research and publishing opportunities.

CEREQ offers the following support:

  • Connecting researchers to infrastructure that promotes community engagement activities
  • Matching community-engaged research capacity with collaborative partners, including local, regional, and national participants in health equity initiatives
  • Offering assistance for developing community-engaged research grant proposals and increased publication opportunities
  • Providing training opportunities for community-engaged research activities, including practical research experiences and seminars on relevant topics

Faculty and staff of CEREQ member institutions engaged in work that can be applied to community-engaged research activity and scholarship are encouraged to use CEREQ.

Contact a member of CEREQ staff at 757.446.7472cereq@evms.edu or fill out the request support form to discuss project opportunities and needs.

CEREQ can facilitate conversations with other researchers who are doing community-engaged work, help you identify a collaborative partner whose skills complement yours, and help make your research more community-engagement focused.

CEREQ offers support to eligible faculty and staff free of charge.
