Art Therapy and Counseling, MS presents “Visual Conversations"
The EVMS Art Therapy and Counseling, MS program recently launched “Visual Conversations: Exploring Privilege and Oppression,” a series of community outreach programs held in partnership with the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art.
The initiative aims to support community members in learning about, acknowledging and responding to the topic of privilege and oppression in a multi-part art-based workshop series.
Each session will include a 30-minute presentation on topics related to privilege, oppression, intersectionality, gender identity, colorism and sexual orientation. Following each presentation, participants will reflect through art making facilitated by an art therapist.
The events are free and no previous art experience required.
Scheduled dates: Mondays, Oct. 10, 17 and 24
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

Ages 14 and up welcome. Minors will need signed parental/guardian permission to participate. Limit 30 attendees.
