Checkered Flag Challenge generates $125,750 for EVMS Fund
In March, the Checkered Flag and Doctors' Day Challenges generated 484 gifts totaling $125,750, making the initiatives the most successful challenges to date.
For the fifth year in a row, Checkered Flag matched all gifts made to the EVMS Fund throughout the month of March, up to $25,000. And this year, an anonymous donor matched support on Tuesday, March 30, up to $7,500, in honor of Doctors' Day.
These generous gifts will help increase funding support for student scholarships, faculty recruitment, curriculum enhancement, research and community outreach.
Checkered Flag is a Hampton Roads-based auto group founded in 1964. The family-run business has a long relationship with EVMS. Steven M. Snyder, President of the Checkered Flag Motor Car Company, serves on the EVMS Foundation Board of Trustees, and multiple generations of his family have supported EVMS for nearly 50 years.
