Faculty staff and students pledge to recycle
This week EVMS participated in America Recycles Day, a national initiative of Keep America Beautiful, that recognizes the benefits of recycling while providing an educational platform to raise awareness about the value of reducing, reusing and recycling throughout the year.
Faculty, students and staff signed pledge forms promising to live a recycled lifestyle by committing to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Since 2008, EVMS has collected over 650 tons or 1.3 million pounds of recyclable materials. A ton of 100 percent-recycled paper saves the equivalent of 4,100 kWh of energy, 7,000 gallons of water, 60 pounds of air emissions and three cubic yards of landfill space.
