The Hampton Roads Biomedical Research Consortium seeks to incentivize and support collaborative biohealth research projects through the Collaboration Accelerator Fund (CAF).

This competitive funding opportunity will provide five to seven awards for research partnerships involving clinicians or tenured and tenure-track faculty and research scientists from HRBRC's primary institutions of EVMS, ODU and Sentara Healthcare along with at least one external partner in academia, government or industry. The fund is intended to help rapidly address pressing research questions, foster new partnerships and position teams for successful large multidisciplinary extramural funding applications.

The abstract deadline is Monday, Aug. 23.

Research projects should align with the core mission of the HRBRC, which includes the reduction of health disparities, increased regional research collaboration and productivity and building a stronger biohealth vertical for the region. Projects should be rapidly deployable and align with existing HRBRC resource investments, including healthcare/health disparities data analytics and IoMT devices and applications.
