MPH students help build healthier communities
Students in the EVMS/ODU Master of Public Health program are joining their colleagues around the nation this week in organizing events and activities to build healthier communities during National Public Health Week. Daily public-health themes for the rest of the week are Wednesday’s Environmental Health, Thursday’s Injury and Violence Prevention and Friday’s Ensuring the Right to Health.
To that end, this Friday, April 6, MPH students will assist with the Health and Wellness Fair hosted by the Re-entry Council at Norfolk’s Workforce Development Center. The event, held in the city's Wards Corner neighborhood, will help advocate for everyone’s right to a healthy life by bringing health screenings and resources to the city’s underserved and at-risk populations.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The Workforce Development Center is located at 201 E. Little Creek Road, Norfolk.
