Virtual events raise awareness about childhood development
Join EVMS Minus 9 to 5 and the M. Foscue Brock Institute for Community and Global Health for two events supporting early childhood development on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
At the Early Childhood Executive Briefing, business and community leaders can learn how to better support early childhood systems that make a positive impact on the workforce of today and tomorrow. The virtual event begins at noon and participants can register here.
The event will be followed by The Basics Hampton Roads Campaign Launch to discuss and engage stakeholders on a public health approach that raises awareness about early childhood development and builds capacity throughout the community. The second event begins at 2:30 p.m. and participants can register here.
The keynote speaker for both events is Dr. Ronald Ferguson, an MIT-trained economist who focuses social science research on economic, social, and educational challenges. He is Director of the Achievement Gap Initiative at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and Founder and President of The Basics, Inc.
