Kurt Stauder, DPA, MBA, a veteran healthcare executive, joined EVMS Medical Group in November 2019 as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Stauder oversees the medical practice’s 150 physicians, including many who are national leaders in their field. Before joining EVMS, he was Chief Operations Officer with Casa Colina Hospitals and Centers for Healthcare in Pomona, California. In that role, he led operational teams of various hospital departments/functions and implemented an electronic medical records conversion. That post was his latest in a series of increasingly senior leadership positions over the last 30 years at hospitals, health systems and medical foundations throughout California.
His past employers include an academic medical center — UC Irvine at UC Irvine Healthcare/University of California — where he was Chief Operating Officer of a multi-specialty group that included 570 physicians and 26 hospital-based practices.
Mr. Stauder holds an MBA from the University of San Francisco and a Doctorate of Public Health Administration from the University of La Verne in La Verne, California.
EVMS Medical Group is a not-for-profit physician group supporting EVMS with more than 150 physician-educators and 40 physician-extenders specializing in family and internal medicine, obstetrics, medical and surgical specialties, as well as radiation oncology, laboratory and pathology services. Today, EVMS Medical Group practices handle more than 415,000 patient visits annually and treat more than 1,600 patients every day at 29 practice locations throughout Hampton Roads.
