Sunita Dodani, MBBS (MD), MSc, FCPS, PhD, FAHA, Professor of Internal Medicine, is the Founding Director of the EVMS-Sentara Healthcare Analytics and Delivery Science Institute (HADSI). Dr. Dodani bringing executive-level leadership experience in research management and extensive expertise in creating innovative models of health promotion to the joint institute for data-analysis services and research support.

In partnership with teams from EVMS, Sentara and many other institutions, Dr. Dodani is dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare in Hampton Roads and striving to improve population health and reduce disparities, and create high-performing, sustainable health systems with the application of healthcare analytics tools. Her team is working in partnership with many local and regional organizations to develop, test and scale innovative new health interventions and models of cost-effective healthcare delivery.

Dr. Dodani earned her medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. TWhile attending she also completed her residency in family medicine along with training in preventive cardiology. Later, she completed her Master’s in Epidemiology and Community Health from the Dalhousie University, followed by a PhD in chronic diseases from the University of Pittsburgh. She came to EVMS from the University of Florida and Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. Dr. Dodani’s research has focused on health disparities relating to cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, type 2 diabetes and obesity.
