The EVMS Medical Group is providing guidance for healthcare providers treating COVID-19 patients. This approach to COVID-19 is based on the best (and most recent) available literature and the Shanghai Management Guideline for COVID.

The Master of Public Health program will host a Public Health Grand Rounds about the coronavirus at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in Lester Hall, room 135. “Coronavirus: Don’t Let Misconceptions Eclipse the Truth” is open to the public as well as the campus community. It will feature a panel of public health experts including Edward Oldfield III, MD, Professor of Internal Medicine at EVMS and Infectious Disease Specialist; Robert Alpino, MIA, Director of the Eastern Virginia Area Health Education Center at EVMS; and regional public health directors. View the video.

Health officials keeping close eye on coronavirus

When it comes to the novel coronavirus, Robert Bradshaw, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at EVMS, says don’t panic yet. Dr. Bradshaw, who also serves as Medical Director and Medical Review Officer for EVMS Occupational Health, says the Virginia Department of Health and local health officials are monitoring developments surrounding this new respiratory outbreak.
