The program is designed to provide students with knowledge in healthcare delivery science and fundamental skills to contribute to the development of high-quality, patient-centered, safe and accessible healthcare. Students will be trained with the competencies required to participate in healthcare quality improvement and will be exposed to a variety of disciplines and tools, including health analytics, health disparities, leadership skills, healthcare service and management.

The program is designed for individuals with bachelor’s degrees in healthcare, education, management or related discipline, working healthcare professionals and foreign medical graduates. The program will also help professionals interested in career advancement or, possibly, a career change.

Graduates of the Master of Healthcare Delivery Science program will be qualified for positions in health analytics, patient safety outcomes, program assessment, quality of care and more. See career options.

There is no accrediting body for MHDS programs. However, EVMS is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Learn more about the institution's accreditation.

Yes, this program is explicitly designed to allow students to complete all courses and assignments online and from a distance. Courses will be delivered predominantly via asynchronous instruction so students can access material and complete assignments at times most convenient for them. Upon completion of all degree requirements, students are strongly encouraged to attend Commencement activities, if at all possible.

No, the courses are structured to be completed in the sequence depicted on the course sequence.

Although the amount of time may vary, on average, students should expect to spend about 12 to 15 hours per week.
