Linda Staiger, MD (MD '77), struggled under her load of textbooks when she was an EVMS student. Thankfully, today's technology has eased the textbook burden. From opening with 27 students in 1973, EVMS has grown to more than 1,300 students enrolled this year, with that number projected to approach 1,500 in another four years. Also this year, the first class of MD students celebrates its 40th anniversary of graduation at Alumni Weekend, which takes place Oct. 14-16.
Clad in pink, these are not your average fishermen. They are women, young and old, who are on the water to raise money for breast cancer research at EVMS. And bringing them all together is Linda Church, chair of the Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation's Wine, Women & Fishing event.
