In accordance with its vision and mission, the Brock Institute invites scholars from all over the country who are doing work that inspires new and innovative ways to decrease health disparities and increase cultural competency. Initially, the Brock Scholar series was targeted to engage as many individual EVMS departments and offices to support department-defined educational needs integrating additional elements of education, clinical care, and research. The Brock Scholars Program provided a venue to invite experts from across the world and country to educate our EVMS community regarding better strategies to care for populations around our region. Moving forward the restructured Brock Institute Educational Sessions will continue to provide a venue for experts to educate our EVMS community regarding better strategies on health disparities, equity, and policy, but with greater emphasis on Maternal/Infant Health and Mental Health/Addiction. Brock Lecturers will continue to educate and engage Faculty, Staff, Students and Community Stakeholders of our collaborative strategies to improve the health of Hampton Roads.
