Geriatrics
Marissa Galicia-Castillo, MD, FAAHPM, is the Sue Faulkner Scribner Professor of Geriatrics. The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Director holds Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. As part of the Geriatrics Academic Career Award (GACA) program, she earned a Master's in Education from Old Dominion University.
Dr. Galicia-Castillo's honors include the John A. Hartford Geriatric Leadership Scholars Award from 2007-2009. She has been a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society since 2007. She has been recognized by Coastal Virginia as a "Top Doc" in both Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine since 2008. She is currently a Fellow in the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, American Geriatrics Society and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Galicia-Castillo is an Associate Editor for PC-FACS. She currently serves as Medical Director for the Sentara Norfolk General Palliative Medicine Team, Lake Taylor Supportive Care Medicine Team and Harbor's Edge Continuing Care Retirement Center.
