When researching a topic, it’s sometimes hard to figure out where to start. The EVMS Library research guides can help point you in the right direction. They are tools created by our librarians to share information from reliable resources about topics and services that are relevant to the different patron groups we serve—faculty, staff, students, and community members—for research and study.

The EVMS Library staff would like to welcome all new and returning students to campus. We have a wealth of essential clinical databases, including UpToDate, DynaMed, VisualDX, and BMJ Best Practice, to help you with your rotations. We also have the primary research databases that you will need to provide context to your research projects.

This July 1st the library is retiring its catalog and A-Z electronic book and journal finder and adopting a new system, OCLC’s WorldCat. With WorldCat, users will be able to search for all books and journals at EVMS regardless of format. There are also options to search at the book chapter and journal article level. The default search only looks for EVMS-owned or subscribed resources, but users can choose to search worldwide through WorldCat , the world’s largest library catalog.
